Stephanie M., Owner
What inspired you to branch into a Props For Hire company?
After carefully growing my inventory the past few years, I had an immense desire to make these pieces available to other artists and creative brides. We saw the need for a place to rent vintage and current pieces that have been slightly altered or transformed into totally one of a kind pieces that can be incorporated to match the clients specific vision.
As an Event and Wedding Planner, has it been difficult to let go of creative control for clients who approach AE with their own vision in mind?
No, not at all, even as a planner I often work with clients who have their ideas already in place. Sometimes it’s just about making sure every last detail is covered and adding that extra wow factor. My goal has always been to hear the bride’s vision, take it to the next level and bring their dreams to life. There is nothing quite like seeing the face of my clients when they set eyes on the finished product!
What was your biggest learning moment that lead you to success and 2 companies?
Our clients quickly become extended family members. My goal has always been to approach each event with care and passion while building trusting relationships with the client. There is no greater reward than experiencing the delight and joy we have brought to the bride and those she is sharing her day with.
If your entire company could only be represented through one piece, which would it be?
My family heirlooms! They are so dear to me and were the original inspiration behind my companies. One of the first pieces that captured my heart was a vintage radio that was introduced to me as a young girl growing up. Knowing the history and significance of this piece, the stories of gathering for war news, presidential addresses and how a simple tune could turn the living room into a dance of gathered friends. They allow me to slow down for a moment and enjoy the past and present that we so often take foregranted. I love sharing the passion behind these pieces with my clients.
How do you reenergize after large projects?
Maintaining a creative mind is key in my line of work… when I need a boost, I love to escape to the mountains; trading all technology for time spent wandering through one of a kind shops and experiencing the intricate designs of nature with my closest friends and family. And when there simply isn’t enough time for a getaway, my peace of mind is reclaimed at the gym!
